Belly Dump Trailers

Belly dump trailers are specialized types of dump trailers commonly used in the construction, mining, and roadwork industries for hauling and unloading bulk materials like sand, gravel, dirt, or asphalt. These trailers are typically attached to semi-trucks for transportation.

Key Features

  • Efficient Dumping: The unique belly dump mechanism allows for a more even and controlled release of material.
  • Versatility: These trailers can handle a wide range of bulk materials and are often used in road construction, landscaping, and heavy civil engineering projects.
  • Durability: Belly dump trailers are built to withstand the tough conditions of construction sites, with robust frames and durable dump gates.

Common Uses and capacity

Industry Primary Function Common Materials
Road Construction Spreading gravel, sand or asphalt on roadways Asphalt, gravel, sand
Landscaping Even distribution of bulk materials Topsoil, mulch, decorative stones
Mining & Aggregates Transporting and unloading aggregates Crushed rock, sand, granular materials

Belly dump trailers come in various sizes and configurations, with typical capacities ranging from 20 to 30 tons, depending on the model and the material being transported, as heavier materials like asphalt reduce the overall volume the trailer can carry while lighter aggregates allow for fuller loads.
